Domain Registration

DF Web services can register your domain for you!

If you prefer, or you can take care of this on your own. If we purchase your domain for you, the purchase will be made through GoDaddy.com on your behalf. You will be the registered owner of the domain, but we will remain the technical contact.

We charge only $10 per year for registering and maintaining your domain name. The cost can be as little as $8.95 if you buy it on your own. We mention this to let you know we are not profiting from this. The $10.00 fee is a nice round number and the extra buck covers the cost of the payment transaction if you use PayPal to make your payment to us.

At any time you wish, you may open an account (this is free) at GoDaddy.com and we will transfer the domain into your account. You will then be responsible for maintaining your domain name, updating the nameservers as needed and renewing the domain as it nears expiration.

Handy tips if you choose to handle your own domain purchase:

• Registering a domain name is cheap and easy.
• Without mentioning names, some registrars charge as much as $35 per year for simple .com domain registrations.
• You can register a domain name from 1 to 10 years at a time for less than $10 per year at places like Godaddy, RegisterFly and others.

GoDaddy is not the only registrar out there, but it is who I use and recommend. You can buy a domain name almost anywhere but make sure that whomever you buy it from does not retain ownership of the domain. You could get scammed and lose your rights to the name.

Whatever you do, do not pay more than $10.00 per year for a standard (.com, .net, .biz, .org) domain name. If you still are just not sure about registering your own domain we will be glad to do it for you.
